Around eleven o’clock I left the border of Kawaguchi Lake to go to a great restaurant 5 minutes’ drive away from the city center. This is quite an exceptional restaurant located in a traditional house more than 150 years old. We cook ourself fish, vegetables and meat over hot coals placed in a hole in the ground. At the end of the meal, you can taste a Yamanashi Prefecture’s specialty, the houtou: thick pasta cocked in vegetable soup and miso. A real treat!
